How Do I Straighten Used Three Strand Tarred Codline?

Hello all. I just un-braided an old five foot sample of eight strand sinnet, that is four, twelve foot strands doubled of three-thirty seconds inch,#42, three strand tarred codline. I want to re-use the cord for a new project.
My question is what is the best way to straighten the cords as they have taken on the zigs and zags of the sinnet. Wet them and hang weighted? Dampen and warm iron? Suggestions please. Thank you.

I've tried suspending such unstraight stuff with weights,
w/some success.  Perhaps you could add some conditioning
of pulling the lines back'n'forth over a smooth bar/pulley
(though maybe narrower-than-recommeded-pulley-bending
would be more helpful?).
Similar to this it seems would be pulling some rappel=device-like
structure through the line(s), to have them bending different
ways.  A crossing knot ("Munter hitch" to climbers) around
something suitably sized might do this trick?!
