Title: Knotted frame tutorial

This is a tutorial of a picture frame I made several years ago. It is only 8" in diameter and took almost 40' of 1/4" rope to make. It's my design taken off of Stuart E. Grainger?s Creative Ropecraft-Practical Projects-Rope Edged Tray No. 2, which is based on the looks of the Matthew Walker knot and the Star knot. One cool thing about doing this frame my way is that I incorporated the rope to cover up the side of the frame almost completely. All I did was drill out the side instead of straight down. I had studied his drawing for a long time and one day, it just dawned on me that it might work. Well, I did change one other thing we'll talk about later.

Just click the link above to go to the tutorials at KHWW.net to see the Knotted frame tut. Brian was kind enough to put this in Adobe format so everyone can now enlarge the photos to any size they want with the zoom tool.

This is my first tutorial; they're tuff to do and really time consuming. Hope everyone likes it!

Very nice piece of work - not my 'thing' but I can appreciate it.

Thanks so much, SR. The good comments from you guys, the experts, is very uplifting. I just checked and it's had over 860 reads so far. WOW! It would be cool if someone makes one and posts a picture.

The KHWW link on longer works it only displays that the site has been suspended. Is there somewhere else that this PDF would be available?

Sorry it took so long to reply. KHWW is now a facebook group. You can find the Knotted frame tutorial there in the "files" under the title of "knotted frame adobe.pdf". It is also on Facebook in the files section of the groups "Nautical Fancywork" and "School of Hard Knots" with the same name.
