Title: New Knot??
Post by: Blueberzerker26 on September 28, 2011, 04:15:57 PM
Hello everyone in the world of knots  :P i am new to the guild/forum but have been addicted to tying paracord anything! for about 5 months now :D. I recently have been messing around with some cord trying to see what variations of knot's i could come up with or use. And i came up with a knot i personally never have seen before :) so if this is a new knot then i'm super excited to share it with everyone :P i've attached a photo.

Hello Blueberzerker26 and welcome.

I for one am always interested in what may or may not be something new, at least to me. Please show the method of tying in a picture(s), adding any dressing peculiarities by word that may be necessary.
It is a cute thing that if done in a series could replace beads.

Thanks SS! It's amazing the variations and knots waiting to be explored out there, and the best i could do is open up the knot and tell you that on the 5th loop it was unusual to go over the top instead of through the bottom :P i hope everyone enjoys this knot and if it's Knot :P already done then i think this is to be called the cross crown. :D due to the inspiration of the simple cross knot and it looks like a crown opened up  8). I've attached another photo and i have been tooling around with some more cord so future knots are quite possibly on the way :) i'll be sure to share.

Oh yes Blueberzerker26, you have opened Pandora's box for sure in the realm of decorative knotting. Don't get too lost. Enjoy the voyage!

I believe we should represent symmetric knots as symetrically as possible.  :) See the attached picture of your knot.

That is a very attractive knot! Is the cross crown knot a name you had made up for it, xarax, or is it actually previously documented knot?

It is the knot and the name of Blueberzerker26 , described at Reply#2 above :

I have only manipulated the image of the loose knot a little bit, and I have tried some simple photo tricks with the Microsoft Office Picture Manager !  :)

Xarax, there appears to be a dissimilarity between your image and Blue's image. It's the top center portion. In Blue's image it appears that the line comes up from the bottom in front and the goes through the loop to the back and then to the right. In your image, you have both elements symetrically coming down from the top, hooking around each other, and then exiting on the bottom.
