An obsevational note on the Karash Double Eye Knot
« on: April 03, 2009, 05:17:15 AM »
While playing with this knot I noticed if you hold the S.Parts and pull on the two parallel lines that run over the S.Parts (as observed from Dan's rear view) through the opening in the Collar, the knot falls apart instantly and with ease. This is a good thing, as far as I can tell. Has anyone else noticed this, or am I stating the obvious to the informed?

It sounds as though you're essentially reversing the "backflip"
which might be what gets the knot tied (insert eye-bight,
backflip it around knot to lock), so coming untied thus is expected.

Sorry. I should have placed the emphasis on the EASE at which the knot unties. When you pull this trick on the "single eye version" of the Karash, the BoaB, or the Bwl it does not work to the same effectiveness. In these cases the line(s) want to slip into a hitch on the finger.
