I like the concept of the Stopper + Pile. My main motivation for the Square Bend was to accommodate HUGE differences in diameters. The Stopper + Pile may be a simpler, but just as reliable, solution.
I think I'll start a new thread to discuss generally solutions for HUGE differences in diameter. I mean so HUGE that the connection doesn't really look like a bend anymore, like the pics in this thread don't.
