'Twould be helpful if the printing were here , and not a download removed!

So, but for images (they could come via photograph, I suppose), voici:

Quote
Errata to RYA Knots, Splices & Ropework Handbook

Like most books of this complexity, some errors are bound to occur and since completion the
following errors, which are deemed to be of importance, have slipped through the net in this
book.

Page 84 ? Diagram 3 text ? for 'Working ends' read 'Standing Parts'
Page 141 ? Introduction second paragraph ? ?with a Rolling Hitch? should read ?with a Half
Hitch or Rolling Hitch?

Page 163 ? Diagrams should be annotated as shown here.
[upper diagram:
  'A' & '2' at leftmost joint of core & sheath; '3' at lower right split of core/sheath;
  'B' in NW quadrant where core passes up through sheath (or rope:  green-flecked)

 lower diagram:
  '2  A' now moved up/around from upper diagram's 8-o'clock point to about noon,
  of the eye circle;
 'B' above, '3' below, the insertion/crossing point of core/sheath (3-o'clock of eye circle)
]

Page 163 ? Diagram 10 text '(p67)' should read '(p69)'
Page 166 ? Diagram 1 text ? ?going to cut the core? should read ?going to cut the cover?
Page 201 ? Diagram 4 text ? '(p158)' should read '(p147)'
Page 203 ? Diagram 4 text ? '(p111)' should read '(p123)'
Page 226 ? Diagram annotations ? 5M mark should read ?WHITE CLOTH', 7M mark should  read 'RED BUNTING'.

I must say that I find it appalling that changes were made w/o consultation,
and by a "proofreader"!  Many of the errors are pagination references, and
it's understandable that these at times amount to moving targets; but just
because of that likely being a regularly encountered editing need, there
should be a foolproof method for making such adjustments.
