Google turns up one anglers site claiming a rather low strength
(70%-ish)!? And it turns up no clear image of the knot.
It looks EASY to tie, which is part of its appeal apparently,
but seems to be a PITA to properly set -- but as usual, what
is to be "proper" is impossible to know from the lousy images
of the finished knot. (Realize the fishermen can be generous
in their tying consumption of small, cheap material.)
What I get, in a few quick fiddlings (with small but non-angling
material), is a hitch in which the end is nipped between opposed
bights at the side of the hitched object opposite (nearly so) to
the main line!? (which is nothing like one drawing of the
finished knot, but more like some Thai fishing site's photo)
