Hi Mathpro73,
Are you a member? The Arctic Project is very interesting
No, I found this site quite by accident last year, while I was looking information due to a thread about one of these figures that reproduces the symbol of the Olympic Games, I am a mere spectator about doing and planning of these figures, I I've never tried even once! sometimes I just take a look at the figure of the month ..
I have read on the site about why they decided to call "Arctic" the project you mentioned: I like the idea of calling "Inuit" the Eskimo Bowline, because I had heard somewhere that Inuit people do not like be called "Eskimo", but in fact this term is too "generalizing" ,because the peoples of non-Western culture who live near the Arctic Circle are many, and at minimum this the shape of the knot is also found in Scandinavia in the form of Lapp (Sami!) knot, and also far to the south (the Kalmyk loop);I might start calling it Arctic loop, but do not know how many people of these populations have ever perceived themselves as "Arctic people" ...well, whatever, I do not think I'm the best person to be regarded as the champion of self-determination of the North peoples ...!(Not so much because I do not come from the North, but because I'm too intent to my little facts..)
Bye!
