Is there a website which shows you how to make different types of knots and what they look like?

There are many sites on the web. Dave Root's site is excellent and he includes the Ashley Book of Knot's reference numbers. If you don't know why you might need Ashley's reference numbers, you will know as you catch up on your reading of this forum!

Hi,
 Try a visit  to <www.animatedknots.com> where you may enjoy Grog's animated knots.  I just tried the link from within the forum and had difficulty but when I used the link from my browser it worked just fine.  Grog has done a nice job with the site and has worked through some of the knots with members and guests of this forum.  Good luck.
