What time would the chat room be operating in Australian Time. Would be interested to get involved. ???

Sledge,
can you tell us what time will be good for you?
That is day and time localy and which part of OZ, and convert it to European or American times so we can set up a session.

If several people are interrested in running a chat at any regular time they can use the chatroom, just announce the time and be there.

Thanks for your reply Willeke. I dont think I will be able to make the chat room. Just did the conversion. In Melbourne, Victoria, we are 10 hours ahead of you. e.g. Sunday Noon, London time =  Sunday 10 p.m. Melbourne time.  Ah well. Will keep reading the forum and sticking my 2 bob's worth in. Great Forum, read it with intrest often.

Sledge,
If you want to chat, let us try a time.
Quote
Sunday Noon, London time =  Sunday 10 p.m. Melbourne time

Would Saturday 10AM London time= Saturday 8 PM Melbourne  be sensible to you?
It will not be posible this weekend, many of the regular chatters in England and here are on different shows, but if you think this time is feasable we can try for a Saturday in September.
I go for a Saturday rather than a Sunday because on Sunday I am already 5 hours on the chat most weeks.

I would like all members in the rest of the world to have a look at this time and add their own local time and whether they can join in or not, and if they want to come chatting.

Hi Willeke,
As you know, I never seem to make my free time work for the "Chat" as much as I wish I could.  Since my personal situation has changed a bit I tried again and still can't make it work.  So... I suspect that good stuff happens on Chat.   Is there a Chat log or a copy of the conversations that I could view?  I know that much of what may have been said may not be on point.... but I could perhaps read hours of chat in a minute or two and skim off the cream?  What do you think?  Even reading Forum... There is plenty there but often several posts come down to one or two fine points.  Since it is Forum I can get through many posts in a few minutes, jot or copy the salient points, maybe Chat can be the same?  Just a thought.
I've been practicing IM with some online buddies.  I am too slow, too limited, too much tending to put my foot in my mouth... so I can't see "Chat" working for me.

First, sorry to have missed all the chatters who where on today.
I was away for a show and returned so late in the evening that the chat was empty, (already, still?)

Roy,
The chat is a here and now, a you have to be there or you have missed it kind of thing.
I have made notes of one or two chat sessions, because there where things discussed I need to pass on to others, but it is hard to read and even harder to follow.
And it is against the traditions of chatting to publish a log as far as I know.

I would like one of the other chatters to respond on this question, since my oppinion is just an oppinion, not a rule.

HI Roy,

Like Willeke said - I guess you just have to be there.  It is not possible to record all that is said unless you spend your time just copying everything and not paying attention to what is said - it is "chat" in the literal sense of the word where you have to catch what is being said.  Unless you are in the habit of copying down stuff that is said in your normal conversations...?  I hope you can join in sometime.....

Are you intrested in a chatsession at a time that can work for you?
Saturday 10AM London time= Saturday 8 PM Melbourne

This coming Saturday, 2 september, I will have time to be there.
By this I invite all our members who are awake at this time to join in.

The chat was open, come to http://www.igkt.net/chat/index.html and see me if you want a talk a bit.
If I do not react immediatly, please stay online and come back a few minutes later. I will not be glued to my screen today.

Willeke

PS,
I have been on the chat for a long time, but nobody from Australia.
Let us know if you want a second chance.

Finn is australian...
When I talked to her she said its early morning (that was about 2300 GMT I think), she used to drop in before going to college or uni

Willeke,

I finally managed to make it into the chat room -- nice to see you and the others, there.  I'll try to show up again.  :)

Hi,

I'm still around. Haven't been chatting lately as I moved house and don't have internet at home yet. I can't make it next weekend, but after that if anyone is interested in a chat Sunday evening or monday morning Aussie time I'd be in.

Cheers,

Finn

I am trying to get on the chat today, but for some reason the chatroom does not show up on my screen.
I keep trying and hope to be in a little later today.
