How to Make the Sea Turtle Knot by TIAT

The Sea Turtle Knot is the combination of a Slip Knot,
a modified Double Coin Knot and a strategic series of
tucked bights (creating the turtle's limbs).

The finished tie can be completed up as a necklace or a
stand-alone piece, the choice is yours.  :)

Thanks for putting this up JD. Ever since I saw this on your website I've wondered how it was made. I'll let you know how I get on making one.

Cheers JD !

My first attempt, not as neat as yours, and I made a few mistakes on the way.

The smile on my four year olds face made it worth the effort, now I need to make another for my 8 year old!

BTW at the start you say 12 foot of cord, I only used about 6 to 7 foot of cord?

~ 12 foot of cord is what I used to make the necklace version of the knot (then cut it to fit).

JD ~ Well done!

Ah that makes sense now!  I had so much left over I thought I'd done something wrong. I've got some more green cord on order ready for the next turtle.
