.  At decision time (when the rope is already around the object), it's too late to tie the much adored Zeppelin Loop.
Unless you decide to tie a Zeppelin Loop the split second before you insert the rope into your hardware.  Also, with a common tie down hook, this become immaterial.

P.S.  I've yet to see a clean, memorable way to tie a Double Dragon after putting the rope through or around an object.   Would you have such a method that you care to share?

I'm sure you've already seen it.  I learned by using the second method on this page:

After it clicks, it really is not much more difficult than tying a Bowline.

Yes, as you know, I've seen it -- hence my comment:

If people want to see this end loop used, a better method needs to be devised.  I'm just not very optimistic about finding such a method.
