At my highschool a girl named Caitlin Joy died yesterday.  While doing nothing the first hour and a half of school (teacher was broken down crying for most of it) I came up with this knot.  The Caitlin Joy Knot

tell me if you want to know how to tie it!

Wow, cool knot!  Show us how to tie it!

I'm sorry to hear about Caitlin Joy, but it's a very sweet sentiment to name a knot after her.

To tie!!

Step one, make three or four loops.  I made these around my hand. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/65Grendel/CaitlinJoy5.jpg

Step two. make a loop with the standing part at the top of the loopshttp://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/65Grendel/CaitlinJoy8.jpg

Step Three.  take a bight to the opposit side and pull it through the loop making a slipknot over the coil.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/65Grendel/CaitlinJoy1.jpg

Step four Bring the bight back and pull it throught the loop at the top and do it again and again and again being sure to keep itNEAT andTIGHT  This shows it with the first three done.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/65Grendel/CaitlinJoy3.jpg

Step five.  continue step four until you've made a hard loop with a neat patturn on it.  this is called a birds nest if it is tied loosely and is used when you're going to drop a rope down a cliff so it doesn't tangle.  For this, you should have tied it way too tight for that.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/65Grendel/CaitlinJoy6.jpg

step six wrestle the rough, flat side of the ring you've made from the outside to the front.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/65Grendel/CaitlinJoy.jpg

Step seven.  Fight the loop into the shape of a heart and secure it in that shape by bringing loop at the top down over the bottom point of the heart.  the loop should start between the two humps of the heart.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/65Grendel/CaitlinJoy2.jpg

Step eight. secure the securing loop with an overhand or other small stopperknot.http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67/65Grendel/CaitlinJoy4.jpg

That's it
