Yes it is! Just Change the working end of 1 Rope. Then make the knot very "open" and tangle and thighten with care.

so, it's safe to say that you can NOT transform bend #1453 to bend #1452.

As you seem to mention, if you form a ring of rope by joining the two ends using the #1453 bend,and then you operate the geometrical transformation of the knot's nub into the shape of #1452,you will find in your hands what will have the appearance of a loop version of #1452(with a short standing end and a large eye).This is because now you expect to load it from what that before was only one of the tail ends.All this results in the fact that,joining two different pieces of rope,making this geometric transformation,to make the #1452-shaped knot's nub so that it functions as a true #1452,you must exchange the roles standing end/tail end of one of the links(ie a partially reversion of the loads of the initial #1453 bend).
Of course, if you mean to say that it is not possible to transform #1453 into #1452 or viceversa maintaining all the same initial loads,you are absolutely right,but what was wanted to be noted more than anything,is that is the topology of the knot that remains unchanged.What you can do,maintaining the same loads, is to tranform #1453 in his totally reversed version.

Perhaps the thought was just that, if one had one knot
tied in rope per some normal use, that particular joint
could not be must "manipulated" into the other --rather,
one must change the loading of ends.  (Whereas, e.g.,
with a sheet bend one can pull the "loop" part so that it
is around its own SPart and makes thus a sort of hitch
to the other line --not one I'm recommending, but ... .)
