Clove Hitch variation??
« on: January 17, 2017, 04:16:42 AM »
Hello knot tyers,
                        I hope all is well.
For some time I have tied what I believe is a variation of the Clove Hitch.   It has some extra turns which give it great capacity to grip when pulled in various directions, and also brings a strangle aspect.   I call this Loctite (which is a naughty use of the patent brandname!), but I don't know if it has already been "invented".
I tie from a working end, but it can be formed first and placed on a (spar).
Can you please evaluate this hitch and let me know if it is a new variation?   Pictures attached.
       All the best.
              Greg

I think that I've not seen it previously, though there
are some similar adventures from the constrictor
and like knots.

As for "Loctite", ignoring that homonym while attached
to the essence, I used "locktight" for some eye knots
fiddled for my "Y2K" contribution.   ;)
