Coloured 3 strand string

Hi All !
I'm new to the forum and I'm sure what I'm going to ask has been many times before !
 I have tried my hand at the Art of knotting off and on for a few years now . I took an interest in doing so  after a family friend who made various pieces passed away and I got given most of his string / rope .
Most of the string is 2mm to 3mm Dia three strand white and bark brown . My question is , where can I purchase this type of string in the UK but in a better selection of colours ?
I can find braided stuff no problem ,but don't seem to be able to find small Dia three stand in a good selection of colours .
 
Can anyone help ?

I have some rolls of thin nylon brick line (USA mason line) line about 1 mm I would think which is coloured and which I bought in B&Q. But laid 2 to 3 mm laid cord other than cotton or natural material is unusual - there is probably no call for it since for most applications it has no particular advantage and I imagine that braided cord is much easier and cheaper to manufacture. If you are happy with cotton then probably the simplest solution is to dye it yourself (something like Dylon works well).

Hello Paragon and welcome.

Along the lines of what Barry has put forward, if you are going to try your hand at adding color to twisted cotton cord you will need to use a fiber reactive dye.

Many thanks for the replies guys !!! The links are a great help . Had an idea I might need to dye my own white string as there was a dylon tub in the bag I was given .
Looks like I'll just buy braided stuff and dye my own 3 strand when I need it .
