Puzzle: variations on a theme

Hi all,
Which "theme" (knot) do you see (tie)  from these "variations"?
(in the third variation pay attention to the crossings!)

the theme-knot was a classic bowline, by the way the variations show (at least to me) the symmetry of the SPart and the tail: symmetry not present in the finished knot.
