Hi Derek,

That's the picture, but it wasn't the hitch I meant; rather the intricate knot that's keeping the two ends tied together.  They're/it's standing to the left of the actual hitch.  And no, I don't believe I've seen your hitch before, although it looks such a simple and elegant arrangement it has one of those "well of _course_ that's how to do it" feelings to it :)
