Mayan Rope Making
« on: October 26, 2019, 03:36:07 PM »
I recently had a message from Alessandro Bricco, an Italian Anthropologist working in the Yucatan (Mexico) who had met an elderly Mayan man who was making his own rope from sisal. He sent me these pictures as he thought Guild members would be interested in them. Should you wish to follow this up please email me (secretary@igkt.net) and I will forward the message.

Mayan people, like us, are a living and changing culture. Obviously they didn't make rope just in the same way they did more than 500 years ago, just like us. And for sure they now use bike, cars and airplane just like us ;)
