Drawstring Toggle - ABOK 551
ABOK 551 can be more than just a trick knot.  It makes an attractive drawstring toggle when tightened around any drawstring.

Hello Asemery,

How tightly does this hold?
Do you think you could use the end of the drawstring to tie this know around itself and then slide up to hold tighly?
Like for a sleeping bag stuff sack or similar?

Regards
Greg

Dave,
This knot holds very well, especially when tied with cotton or other natural material.
Leave a small tag end as shown on the photo.
Using one end of the drawstring as you describe should work well.

I had never considered this knot for a drawstring toggle as suggested here. Excellent idea. In this capacity, the fact that it is nearly impossible to untie when pulled tight is a feature rather than a bug.

Seeing this post inspired me to try one other knot -- two round turns on two round turns (what I call the "lazy dog"), which can be tied as a loop or a bend.  I expect that other hitch-on-hitch knots might work as well.
