If you watch the video, you'll see that it is done with loops and the entire handle wrapping can be undone like crochet. The result is very ringbolt in appearance but not in the doing... so perhaps it could be named faux ringbolt hitching or the like.

It does look like zipper sennit (or phoenix tail) but it's done in 1 strand and around something else. Similar to ringbolt but tied on the bight. I just assumed that it had its own name.
