i see this form, when finishing tying a ring knot, before tidy and tightening,
a loose spiral, like the decoration made in a wrought iron bar (what is that called - a cone? twisty cone?)
for the cord version, the additional thing needed is an axis that the spiral can be fixed on at two points - i guess
maybe it'll involve a second (axis) strand.
it can be done, i just don't know how yet.
to me, it comes across as a pretty bead
