I've been mulling the idea of contacting someone (I would need to start with researching who best!) at Aliexpress/Alibaba to get custom satin cord, president's braid, and/or just shoelace cord on a spool.  There is, of course, the fear of doing business with Google Translate as an intermediary, and also the fear of minimums required for custom manufacturing...
