Thanks for the video link, mcjtom!

My copy of The Morrow Guide to Knots by Bigon and Regazzoni (translated from Italian into English, 1982) has instructions for tying a Bowlline with rope under tension (p.80-81).  This seems to be very similar to the method in the video, but the video makes it much clearer how to complete these steps.

... noting that "under tension" doesn't cover
all that MUCH tension.  Just as many supposed
mechanical-advantage structures really don't
offer much at all (esp. rope-on-rope sheaves),
BUT given overpowerful setting by a person,
will achieve good quick tension HOLDING.

(One can try such things with weights and
see that it might even take more weight
to get the MA system to lift another weight!)
