Hi all,
I have an Overhand knot Bowline that can handle heavy weight,
and is easy to untie after heavy loading.
...
After heavy loading, the main collar (collar that is near the standing part) should be easy to lose.
... which is known to me as
the "Lehman Loop" --from a long time ago,
seeing the Honda Knot as amenable to bowlinesque U-fold completion
(and ditto for many other eye-knot bases).
I think that it's preferable to have the Tail emerge on the outside,
not between eye legs :: with straight EK loading, it should be
equally secure (i.e., it will hold); but try loading the RELeg vs. S.Part
only, and there can be slippage in the case of the Tail in center.
As for loosening after a load, the problem can be that the OH part
will draw down very tightly and do so with stretching-diminution
of the diameter, closing the OH tightly in this lesser diameter,
and then with tension relaxed, swelling back to normal size
outside of the base knot will essentially stopper the OH and
frustrate loosening.
