In June 2020,
Xarax sent me an interesting 'bend'.
At the time, he assigned the name 'Bingo bend'.
The loading profile was as per image 'X' (refer to attached image).
The image sent to me (in June 2020) had the dressing in an energy stable state.
Apparently, at another time - it appears that he also presented the 'bend' in a flattened 'heart' shape - with no defined loading profile?
I have no personal information on this (
only can discuss what was sent to me at that time).
I think this is an interesting
end-to-end joining knot ('bend') - and I'm showcasing it here to give it some deserved attention.
As far as I am aware, no testing has been carried out in human rated ropes - to determine:
[ ] jam resistance?
[ ] security?
[ ] stability?
I haven't heard from Xarax in a long while so if he is reading this post - greetings my friend
Perhaps you could reach out and provide some more information...
I'm presuming that you are the creator/originator of this bend?
There is nothing like it in Ashley... and I have not seen it published by any knot book authors?
I dont know if any content/papers have been written about it?
NEW INFO:Xarax originally presented this knot to the IGKT forum on
Oct 07, 2014 - with a flattened parallel dressing state (energy unstable).
At that time (Oct 2014), he assigned the name 'Heart bend'.
Then, in June 2020, he apparently renamed it as 'Bingo bend' with an energy stable dressing.
It is possible he realised that with a proper energy stable dressing, it no longer resembled a 'heart' shape - so he had a change of heart! (pun intended).
